The cover of the May issue of the British magazine "Screen International" is dedicated to Azerbaijan
The cover of the May issue of "Screen International" — one of the leading international film industry publications in the United Kingdom — is dedicated to Azerbaijan.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the magazine's cover features information about the cash rebate mechanism, which became one of the outcomes of reforms in the film production sector in Azerbaijan.
It should be recalled that according to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated July 4, 2025, producers are reimbursed 25 percent of expenses incurred for the purchase of goods, works, and services for film production within the country. In addition, if at least three established criteria aimed at promoting national culture are met, the producer will be additionally reimbursed another 15 percent of the expenses incurred. Thus, the production company will be able to recover up to 40% of its costs. Based on these figures, the magazine states that Azerbaijan has the potential to become a favorite destination for foreign filmmakers.
The May issue of the magazine is timed to coincide with the 79th Cannes Film Festival. Azerbaijan is currently represented at the festival with a national stand.
It is worth noting that the magazine "Screen International," founded in 1889, has been published under its current name since 1975.
