First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva and her daughter Leyla Aliyeva, together with First Lady of Uzbekistan Ziroatkhon Mirziyoyeva and her daughters Saida and Shahnoza Mirziyoyeva, on August 23 visited the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent.

This center was established by the decision of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The center, covering an area of more than 10 hectares, was built in the style of ancient architectural monuments of the city of Samarkand. It also features a dome with a height of 65 meters.

The center has several departments, including a department for maintaining the national register of rare manuscripts, a manuscripts fund, a library, and archives.

The center's building houses a library that stores 100,000 manuscripts and more than 1 million books.
