Prospects for the development of air communication between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia discussed

President of CJSC Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) Samir Rzayev held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan, Issam bin Saleh Al-Jutayli. The parties exchanged views on expanding mutual cooperation and strengthening partnership in the field of air transportation.

During the conversation, the importance of increasing passenger traffic and deepening partnership relations in the aviation industry was emphasized. It was also noted that strengthening interaction will contribute to the development of tourism and economic ties between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia. In this context, it was highlighted that in 2024, Azerbaijan was visited by 94,300 tourists from Saudi Arabia. This indicator reflects the dynamic development of bilateral interaction and a high level of mutual interest.

It should be noted that currently AZAL operates regular flights on the Baku-Dammam-Baku route twice a week - on Mondays and Fridays, and to Riyadh - three times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The parties expressed mutual interest in further expanding the route network and strengthening air connections between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia.
