Ministry employee arrested for brutal beating of fellow villager

The Sheki Court for Serious Crimes issued a verdict against an employee of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan.

As reported by BAKU.WS, an assistant controller of the DOST Center, subordinate to the department, was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment and arrested in the courtroom.

He is accused of severely beating his fellow villager, which almost led to a fatal outcome.

The incident occurred in the palace of celebrations in the village of Kortala in the Balaken district during a wedding celebration. Being in a state of severe intoxication, the accused got into a verbal altercation with another wedding guest, who was also his fellow villager. During the conflict, the official inflicted severe head injuries on his opponent.

The victim was urgently hospitalized and underwent surgery.

A criminal case was initiated on this fact, and the ministry employee was held accountable.
