U.S. President's special envoy Steve Witkoff, following a meeting in Kyiv with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that the U.S., Russia, and Ukraine may soon announce trilateral negotiations.

As reported by Ukrainian media, the American delegate noted that White House chief Donald Trump tasked him and his son-in-law Jared Kushner with preparing a package of agreements to end the war.

"One thing that Steve [Witkoff] and I really thought would be productive is to get back to the trilateral format, which we were able to do about six months ago. And we've talked to both sides, so hopefully we'll have progress on that soon," Kushner said.

According to him, during the meeting the parties discussed what the elements of a lasting peace should be and what Ukraine and Russia could gain from it.

Witkoff called the negotiations in Kyiv "important and substantive."
