Turkish lira hits new anti-record

On Monday afternoon, the dollar exchange rate against the Turkish lira reached 36 liras for the first time following the release of new statistical data and amid the strengthening of the American currency in global markets.
According to trading data, at 15:26 Baku time, the dollar increased by 0.83%, reaching 35.9931 liras per dollar, after closing at 35.6977 liras. During trading, the rate temporarily rose to 36.0015 liras.
The decline in the lira's exchange rate has been continuing since June last year, with the dollar showing growth every month. The first days of February also confirm this trend, which may indicate continuing pressure on the Turkish currency.
