Trump: The Ukrainian people have an indomitable spirit, and the courage of Ukraine inspires many

US President Donald Trump congratulated his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukrainians on Independence Day.

As reported by BAKU.WS, his statement was published by Zelensky on social network X.

"Dear Mr. President, on behalf of the American people, I express my congratulations and warmest wishes to you and the brave people of Ukraine on the occasion of celebrating 34 years of independence," Trump's statement said.

The American leader noted that the people of Ukraine have an indomitable spirit, and Ukraine's courage inspires many. "As you mark this important day, know that the United States respects your struggle, respects your sacrifices, and believes in your future as an independent state," he noted.

"The United States supports a negotiated settlement that will lead to a lasting, enduring peace, end the bloodshed, and protect Ukraine's sovereignty and dignity. May God bless Ukraine. Respectfully, Donald J. Trump," the statement said.

In turn, Zelensky thanked Trump for the congratulations.

"Dear President Trump, thank you for your sincere congratulations on Ukraine's Independence Day. We appreciate your kind words for the Ukrainian people and thank the United States for standing side by side with Ukraine, protecting the most valuable: independence, freedom, and guaranteed peace," he wrote on social network X.

Zelensky expressed hope that by working together, Kyiv and Washington would be able to end this war and achieve real peace for Ukraine.
