Tourist fell from a cliff and miraculously survived while trying to film a volcano eruption in Hawaii
Tourist fell from a cliff and miraculously survived while trying to capture a volcano eruption in Hawaii.
As reported by BAKU.WS, according to the New York Post.
The accident occurred on June 11 on the Byron Ledge trail in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. A Boston resident was trying to find the best view of the erupting Kilauea volcano to take the most successful photos.
Around 9:00 PM, the tourist approached the edge of the cliff and stumbled. He would have fallen another 30 meters down, but a tree cushioned his fall. Search and rescue teams found the man at a depth of approximately 9 meters. The victim suffered only minor facial injuries.
While the man was waiting for rescue, the Kilauea volcano ejected lava to a height of more than 100 meters. Since December 23, 2024, this eruption has been the 25th episode of volcanic activity.
