The mother of one of the richest people in the world has died

Jeff Bezos's mother, Jacqueline (Jackie) Gise Bezos, passed away on Thursday after a prolonged battle with dementia, the Amazon founder announced. She was 78 years old, reports the New York Post.

"She grew up too early - when she became my mom at the tender age of 17. It wasn't easy, but she succeeded," the billionaire wrote in his Instagram post (the owner company Meta is recognized as extremist in Russia and is banned).

As the publication writes, Jackie Bezos was one of the founders of the "Bezos Family Foundation," which helps "young people fully realize their potential and make meaningful contributions to society."

Jacqueline Bezos is survived by her husband Mike, three children - Jeff, Christina and Mark, eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
