The incredible story of a man who came back to life 45 minutes after his heart stopped

A UK resident unexpectedly came back to life 45 minutes after his heart stopped. His story is told by Need To Know (NTK).
64-year-old Steve Dalton felt unwell while helping his daughter Kate set up a playground in the yard. The man had been working since morning, and in the afternoon he had a heart attack. Paramedics spent more than three hours resuscitating him and used a defibrillator six times. Despite their efforts, the elderly Briton's heart couldn't be restarted for 45 minutes. "I had to call my sister and say, 'Dad is gone.' We were sure of it. I can't describe that feeling," said Kate, who watched the medics' efforts along with her mother and brother.
Dalton was taken to the hospital in a coma. Doctors immediately told the family that his heart was severely enlarged and his chance of survival was no more than two percent. Additionally, the doctors stated that the man's brain was likely irreversibly damaged. For the night, the man's relatives went home where, according to Kate, they prayed and jumped at every phone call. However, in the morning they were informed that Dalton was regaining consciousness.
"They reduced his sedative dose, and literally the moment the nurse pressed the button, he suddenly opened his eyes. I asked if he recognized me, and he nodded. It was something unreal," Kate shared her memories.
After this, Dalton's condition worsened again and he was transferred to intensive care, but the next day he regained consciousness and called his relatives himself. When they rushed to the hospital, the man was sitting on the bed, breathing on his own. According to the doctors, his brain was not damaged. Eventually, the man made a full recovery. He said he feels guilty toward his relatives because he made them go through tremendous worry.
Now Dalton and his family are raising money for an organization that helps people who have survived cardiac arrest.
