As a result of a powerful earthquake in Japan, seven people were injured.

"At this hour, there is information about seven injured people, we continue to clarify information about the damage," said the head of the Japanese Cabinet.

On December 8, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake occurred in Japan. According to the National Meteorological Agency, its epicenter was in the Pacific Ocean east of Aomori Prefecture, with the focus at a depth of 50 km.

According to the data, the epicenter was east of Aomori Prefecture. A few minutes after the earthquake, another strong underground tremor occurred in northern Japan, which was also felt in Tokyo.

It is noted that a tsunami about 3 meters high is moving toward the eastern and northeastern coast of the country. Coastal areas of Aomori, Iwate, and Hokkaido prefectures are in the greatest danger. Residents are urged to evacuate immediately from the coastal zone and move to higher ground.

Initially, it was reported that the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.2, but then Japanese seismologists raised it to 7.6. No casualties or destruction have been reported at this time.
