VKontakte and Telegram messenger founder Pavel Durov, in a conversation with podcast host Lex Fridman, revealed that in spring 2018, he likely faced an attempted poisoning. At that time, he was seeking funding for Telegram and the TON project, while several countries, according to him, were trying to block the messenger.

According to Durov, he was living in a rented townhouse and had a "strange" neighbor. One day, the neighbor left something at his door. About an hour after returning home, the businessman felt unwell.

"I felt severe pain throughout my body. I tried to get up and go to the bathroom, but in the process realized that my body was failing: first my vision and hearing disappeared, then it became difficult to breathe," he recounted.

The next day, Durov regained consciousness, but still experienced extreme weakness, and burst blood vessels appeared on his arms and body. The entrepreneur noted that at the time, he didn't share this story with either his team or the public, and didn't specify whom he suspected.

In the interview, he also admitted that he "doesn't fully know how many biological children he has," adding that every morning he does about 300 push-ups and squats, works out at the gym five to six times a week, and regularly takes ice baths.
