Large-scale forest fire in Turkey: nearly 2000 residents evacuated

In the Turkish province of Bursa, as a result of a forest fire in a mountainous area, about 1765 people were evacuated from the villages of Karahıdır, Iğdır, and Avdancık. The fire spread mainly in the Gürsu and Kestel districts, rapidly growing due to strong winds.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the country's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, stated: despite the containment of the fire in Gürsu, it is still not under full control. About 1800 firefighters and more than 500 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fire.
Currently, traffic on the Bursa-Ankara road has been restored, and no casualties have been reported.
Note that earlier in Mersin and Karabük, hundreds of people were also evacuated due to high temperatures.
