Kadyrov responded to rumors about his illness

Head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov spoke about his health in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"When people tell me that I have health problems, I immediately do 50 push-ups," he noted.

Media reports have repeatedly appeared about Kadyrov's "disappearance," which were linked to his illness. Rumors about health problems have been circulating since at least 2019. For example, in the summer of 2023, some publications, citing a Chechen opposition figure, wrote that he was in serious condition and unable to speak due to kidney problems.

Kadyrov himself has always denied such information. In May 2025, he published a video message where he commented on rumors about his illness and urged people "not to waste life on emptiness, vanity, and meaningless conversations, but to fill it with sincerity and grace."
