Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston, in an interview with Harper magazine, denied rumors that she allegedly consciously refused motherhood.

According to the actress, for 20 years she tried to become a mother and constantly faced speculation that she had chosen her career over starting a family. Aniston admitted that she secretly underwent IVF procedures, but the attempt was unsuccessful.

"People didn't know my story, didn't understand what I went through over these years trying to have a child. I wasn't going to discuss my medical problems - that's personal. But over time it became impossible to ignore all this talk about me being selfish, a workaholic who doesn't want to have children. It really hurts - because I'm an ordinary person," the actress said.

Aniston also noted that over the years, the cruelty of the media has only intensified and has now moved to social networks.

"Today any person can remain anonymous and write whatever they want," she emphasized.

The star of the series "Friends" has been married twice. In 2000 she married actor Brad Pitt, but five years later the couple separated. In 2011, Aniston began dating Justin Theroux, whom she met on the set of the film "Wanderlust." In August 2012 the couple got engaged, and three years later they married. In 2018 they announced their divorce.

In September of this year, the actress showed a photo of her new boyfriend for the first time - a hypnotherapist with whom, according to rumors, her romance began last summer.
