In 2026, a new permanent weighing station will appear on the territory of the Zangezur corridor

In 2026, a new permanent weighing station for heavy and oversized vehicles will open in Syunik (in the southern part of Armenia, through which the Zangezur corridor will pass).
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Armenian media, the project is initiated by the Inspection Body for Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety of Armenia and the "Road Department" Foundation.
The project involves the construction of a weighing station on the section 198+000 - 199+000 km of the M-2 interstate public highway in Syunik region. Construction work will begin after the approval of the architectural and construction project and obtaining the necessary urban planning documentation.
The new station will be equipped with furniture and technical equipment in accordance with international standards, and is planned to be put into operation next year.
Note that a permanent weighing station for heavy and oversized vehicles is an automatic weight and dimension control point (APVGK), which automatically measures the mass and dimensions of trucks passing through a special frame without stopping, and transmits data to a single center to verify permits and impose fines in case of exceeding permissible parameters.
