Ekrem Imamoglu arrested by court decision
In Turkey, 19 people have been arrested as part of a corruption investigation related to the Istanbul municipality.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Haber Global, the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office continues its investigation against 100 suspects, including the city's mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. They are charged with "leading a criminal organization," "participating in a criminal organization," "bribery," "fraud," "illegal obtaining of personal information," and "tender fraud."
By decision of the Çağlayan court, Ekrem İmamoğlu, Ali İlbak, Adem Tuncay, Ahmet Köksal, Ali Nuhoğlu, Eyüb Subaşı, Kamil Timur Delibaş, Murat Abbas, Meta Sarıaltun, Alper Aydın, Serdal Taşkın, Serkan Öztürk, Mustafa Nihat Sütlaş, Süleyman Atik, Ahmet Çiçek, Yusuf İlbak, Servat Yıldırım, Serdar Haydanlı and Buğra Gökçe have been arrested.
The interrogation of the remaining suspects in the case continues.
