Astrologer from TikTok arrested for predicting destructive earthquake in Myanmar

Myanmar authorities detained a famous TikTok astrologer John Mo Te for spreading panic among the population, reports Daily Mail.
The blogger published a video with a prediction of a large-scale earthquake that would allegedly engulf the entire country. In his address, the astrologer strongly recommended citizens to stay away from high-rise buildings and always keep essential items with them. The publication caused mass anxiety among residents, especially against the backdrop of recent devastating underground tremors in the region.
Myanmar's military government issued an official statement accusing the astrologer of spreading false information. The authorities promised to apply "effective measures in accordance with the law" to the detainee and warned of similar consequences for anyone caught creating or spreading unreliable information.
After the arrest, John Mo Te's TikTok account was completely removed from the social network.
