Ways to quickly recognize an abuser revealed

Psychologist Svetlana Kireenko explained what warning signs should be noticed to quickly identify an abuser. She discussed this with "Lenta.ru".

"Abusers are often pedantic, and in the early stages of a relationship, they seem like ideal partners. But very quickly they begin to criticize their chosen one, isolate them from family and friends, establish total control over their social circle, finances, and appearance," said the psychologist.

She also emphasized that the main tool of abusers is not impulsive aggression, but hyper-control. The specialist named other signs of such a partner as attempts to start living together at the very beginning of the relationship, establishing numerous rules, jealousy, and control.

"If a partner yells for an hour about a sock that fell behind the couch - that's not normal. In such cases, it's appropriate to seek help from a family psychologist or psychotherapist," Kireenko emphasized.
