Unwillingness to bathe turned out to be a symptom of a dangerous disease
Doctor warned about hidden signs of dementia that are easy to miss in the early stage.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to "Lenta.ru", general practitioner and chief physician of the "Medscan Golden Care" clinic Anastasia Goltsman explained that dementia can be recognized by symptoms that are not always obvious.
According to her, the subtle but common signs include illiteracy in writing and speech, loss of interest in usual hobbies, sudden outbursts of aggression, and unexpected use of profanity. Often a person begins to neglect hygiene and avoid bathing.
Also, with dementia, people forget recent events but clearly remember the distant past. A person may more frequently lose keys or glasses, ignore hints, experience difficulties with orientation even in familiar places. Names, dates, and events start to become confused in memory.
Another alarming signal is the deterioration of the ability to perform routine tasks: a person does them more slowly, worse, and gets tired more easily, although previously such work did not cause difficulties, emphasized Goltsman.
