President's Cup 2026: Azerbaijani Rowers Win 4 More Medals

Azerbaijani rowers won 4 medals at the international regatta "President's Cup 2026," dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, Azerbaijani athlete Alimurad Hajizade won a silver medal.

He took second place in the 500-meter single kayak race (athletes born in 2008–2009). The day before, Hajizade won silver in the 200-meter single kayak competition.

The duo of Mustafa Velizade – Elmir Tarverdiyev won a bronze medal in the 500-meter double boat race (athletes born in 2010–2011).

In turn, Azer Ilyasov won a gold medal in single kayak rowing over a distance of 1,500 meters (athletes born in 2008–2009).

The duo of Niyaz Malikov – Ivan Vorobyansky won a bronze medal in the 1,000-meter double kayak race (among athletes born in 2008–2009).

It should be noted that the tournament, organized jointly by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Aquatic Sports Federation of Azerbaijan, features more than 100 athletes from the Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan alongside Azerbaijan.

The regatta will conclude on May 1.
