Mikail Jabbarov congratulated Azerbaijani wrestlers on their success at the European Championship

President of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation Mikail Jabbarov congratulated the Greco-Roman wrestling national team on their successful performance at the European Championship in Tirana.

Jabbarov wrote about this on social network X.

"We are the strongest in Europe! Another impressive success of our Greco-Roman wrestling national team at the European Championship in Tirana delights and inspires each of us," he noted.

Jabbarov emphasized that following the results of the tournament, Khasrat Jafarov became a four-time European champion, while Gurban Gurbanov, defending his title, once again climbed to the top of the podium. He also highlighted that the bronze medals of Rashad Mammadov, Nihat Mammadli, and Islam Abbasov were yet another confirmation of the team's fighting spirit.

"I sincerely congratulate our athletes, their coaches, and families on this remarkable success and wish further victories to Azerbaijani sports on the international stage," he added.

It should be noted that Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers won five medals at the European Championship — two gold and three bronze. The national team also claimed first place in the team standings.
