Good news for Qarabag fans: the club is close to the most expensive transfer

The footballer that Azerbaijani football club "Qarabag" wants to sign has been revealed.

According to information received by Oxu.Az, the Agdam representative is currently negotiating the transfer of forward Sambou Soumano from French club "Lorient".

It is noted that the negotiations are going successfully.

Let us remind you that "Qarabag" was active in attempts to sign S. Soumano at the end of last year, but could not reach an agreement with the French representative. Thus, although "Lorient" reduced the proposed transfer fee from 5 million euros to 3.5 million, the Agdam club withdrew from negotiations, limiting their offer to 2.5 million euros plus bonuses.

Note that Sambou Soumano joined "Lorient" in 2021. After that, he was loaned out three times. The forward first played on loan at Belgian club "Eupen".

Then he played for French lower league representatives "Rodez" and "Quevilly Rouen". In 2024, he returned to his parent club "Lorient". Last season, he managed to score 14 goals in 32 Ligue 2 matches. This season, he has scored once in three Ligue 1 matches. He managed to find the net against "Rennes" in the 2nd round.
