Former Arsenal footballer charged with five rapes

Footballer Thomas Partey, whose contract with London's "Arsenal" expires in summer 2025, is accused of five counts of rape, reports The Guardian citing the Crown Prosecution Service.
The charges relate to three separate women who reported incidents that occurred between 2021 and 2022. The footballer will appear in court on August 5, 2025.
The Crown Prosecution Service stated that this announcement will generate significant public interest, but it is important that there be no reporting that could in any way prejudice these proceedings.
In July 2022, a girl who wished to remain anonymous published screenshots of their correspondence with Partey on social media, describing the incident.
She noted that Partey is a serial rapist who was lucky that the date when he decided to rape her was 10 days before a change in legislation that would allow British law enforcement to investigate crimes committed outside the United Kingdom.
