Farid Gayibov noted the wide international participation in the "President's Cup 2026" regatta in Aghdara

Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Farid Gayibov expressed satisfaction with the broad international participation in the rowing regatta "President's Cup - 2026," which kicked off in Aghdara and is dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, Gayibov stated this to journalists.

The minister emphasized the significance of holding international competitions in Aghdara for the first time:

"Based on the relevant instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, sports events are being held in the liberated territories. Many of them are international tournaments. In rowing, this is already the fifth event. The 'President's Cup' regatta was held in Sugovushan and Kandalanchay. A fairly large number of countries are participating here. This is gratifying for us. I congratulate each of you on the occasion of another sports celebration."

It should be noted that the official opening ceremony of the international regatta "President's Cup 2026" will take place tomorrow in Mingachevir. More than 100 athletes from Azerbaijan, Czechia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan will participate in the competitions.

The regatta will conclude on May 1.
