Azerbaijani wrestler defeated Armenian athlete Artur Aleksanyan

Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Murad Ahmediev achieved a historic victory at the World Championship taking place in Zagreb.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, competing in the 97 kg weight category, Ahmediev first secured a confident victory over Italian athlete Nikoloz Kakhelashvili (4:1), then defeated Kyrgyzstan representative Uzur Djuzupbekov (5:1).
In the quarterfinal, the Azerbaijani athlete sensationally overcame multiple world and European champion Artur Aleksanyan from Armenia. The match ended with a score of 3:3, however, thanks to the advantage of the last point, the victory was awarded to Ahmediev.
