Working in the Azerbaijan national team is a great honor and responsibility for every coach.

As Oxu.Az reports, this was stated by the new head coach of the national football team Ayhan Abbasov to the Association of Football Federations of the country (AFFA).

He thanked the AFFA leadership for the trust placed in him.

"I will do everything possible to justify this trust. The national team is the pride of each of us. There is a great responsibility on us and on our football players. We will try to represent our country with dignity both on the field and beyond it. United as one fist, we want to achieve good results with the right approach and team spirit. Azerbaijani fans have always supported the national team. Their support is a great source of motivation for us. In the upcoming matches, we will try to show a worthy game and give hope for the future," Abbasov noted.

Recall that as part of the qualifying stage for the 2026 World Cup, the Azerbaijan national team will meet away with the teams of France on October 10 and Ukraine on October 13.
