One of the main organizers of drug trafficking has been detained in Azerbaijan

As a result of a special operation conducted by the employees of the Main Directorate for Drug Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 30 kilograms of narcotic substances smuggled into the country were seized in the Jalilabad district.

As BAKU.WS reports with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during the operation, a 50-year-old resident of the district, Elshan Shammadov, was detained. 30 kg of marijuana was found and seized from him.

It was established that Shammadov had been acting in collusion with Iranian citizens for a certain period of time and was considered one of the key organizers of drug trafficking on the territory of Azerbaijan.

A criminal case has been initiated on this fact, and by court decision, a preventive measure in the form of arrest has been chosen against the detainee.
