Society 37

Changes in public transport operation are planned in Baku in connection with the construction of a tunnel between the metro stations "Jafar Jabbarli" and "Nizami".

As reported by BAKU.WS portal with reference to Report, this was announced by the press secretary of the Closed Joint Stock Company "Baku Metro" Bakhtiyar Mammadov.

According to him, the capital's metro is working closely with the Land Transport Agency of Azerbaijan in resolving this issue.

Bakhtiyar Mammadov reminded that the construction of the tunnel, which is about two hundred meters long, is related to the separation of the "red" and "green" lines. During the construction work, train traffic between the stations "28 May" and "Nizami" will be suspended. Alternative transport - buses - is planned to be organized on this section.

The "28 May" station will continue to operate as usual, and trains will run on the "Akhmedli - Icheri Sheher" route without changes. Passengers will also be able to exit at the "28 May" station and continue their journey towards "Jafar Jabbarli - Shah Ismail Khatai".

According to the representative of the Closed Joint Stock Company, during the construction work, trains will not run on the section between the stations "28 May" and "Nizami". After the start of construction, trains going from the "28 May" station towards the "Darnagyul" station will not be able to move through this section. During this period, passengers will be offered to use alternative transport - buses. At the same time, trains will only run on the "Nizami - Darnagyul" route, and no obstacles to passenger flow are expected in this direction.

Bakhtiyar Mammadov also noted that passenger flow analysis is currently being conducted to minimize possible inconveniences, and the final decision on traffic organization will be made in the coming months.
