After prolonged silence from both sides, Affleck decided to lift the veil of secrecy over the reasons for the collapse of one of Hollywood's most discussed unions. In his candid interview, the actor emphasized that there was no "scandal or intrigue" between the former spouses.

At the same time, the "Gone Girl" star noted that he is not ready to go into details about the separation, as the true reason "somewhat embarrasses" him, and discussing this delicate topic makes him "feel vulnerable."

Affleck also denied rumors circulating in the press that the documentary film "The Greatest Love Story Never Told," where Lopez revealed details of their personal correspondence, was the catalyst for the breakup.

"I think it's important to say that the film was not the cause of the breakdown. This is not a case where you can watch a documentary and say: 'Oh, now I understand the problems of these two people,'" the actor firmly stated.
