Vladimir Zelensky congratulated Ilham Aliyev

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky sent a congratulatory letter to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

As reported by AZERTAC, the message reads:

"Dear Mr. President,

I sincerely congratulate you and the people of Azerbaijan on the Independence Day of your country.

Azerbaijan, enhancing its role and authority in regional and international processes year after year, demonstrates dynamic development as an important participant in regional cooperation in the energy, logistics, and economic spheres.

Ukraine highly values the strategic nature of the relations between our countries and the consistent support that Azerbaijan provides to our state and the people of Ukraine during this extremely difficult period.

I express my special gratitude to you for the humanitarian and energy assistance provided to Ukraine, participation in the reconstruction of the city of Irpin, as well as the implementation of programs for the rehabilitation and recovery of Ukrainian children. These steps are a manifestation of genuine solidarity and mutual respect between our states.

Ukraine consistently supports the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of states within their internationally recognized borders. I am confident that adherence to these principles will continue to remain the foundation of stability and security in the Black Sea-Caspian region.

I am convinced that there is great potential for further development of cooperation between Ukraine and Azerbaijan in the energy and logistics spheres, in the areas of transport connectivity, infrastructure, and security. In the context of the transformation of global energy and logistics routes, the role and resilience of our states in ensuring regional interconnections will only increase. I believe that the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership will continue to strengthen in the interests of our states and peoples.
