On April 10, Prime Minister of Lithuania Inga Ruginienė toured the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve.

As reported by BAKU.WS, during the walk, the Lithuanian Prime Minister was provided with detailed information about the reserve, which is included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List, as well as the repair, improvement, and restoration work being carried out there.

It was noted that unique historical and architectural monuments from various centuries have been preserved on the territory of Icherisheher.

The guest then visited the Maiden Tower and was thoroughly informed about the history of the construction of the fortress walls. It was noted that the Maiden Tower, erected in the 7th–6th centuries BC, was restored in the 12th century. The cylindrical monument, standing 28 meters tall with a diameter of 16–16.5 meters, consists of the main tower and a large supporting structure adjoining it from the south side.

During the visit to the 15th-century state-significant monument – the Bukhara Caravansarai in Icherisheher – Inga Ruginienė was given a detailed account of the history of this historical site and the process of its restoration. It was reported that this grand structure, built on an ancient trade route and serving as a haven for Central Asian merchants, has regained its former grandeur as part of a large-scale project implemented in accordance with the relevant Decree of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The restoration process was carried out based on the principle of preserving both the architectural and engineering features of the monument.

Additionally, it was noted that visitors here can observe artisans at work, learn about the stages of crafting national products, and purchase unique souvenirs for themselves.

During the walk in Icherisheher, Inga Ruginienė was treated to tandir bread.

Afterwards, Prime Minister of Lithuania Inga Ruginienė also toured the Palace of the Shirvanshahs Complex – a masterpiece of medieval Eastern architecture and a historical-architectural monument of world significance. It was reported that the structures of this historical monument, created in the early 15th century, are situated at the highest point of one of the hills of Icherisheher. They are clearly visible from the Caspian Sea and the surrounding elevations of the city. The complex continues to maintain its historical and architectural prominence to this day.
