The father of the shahid spoke about the meeting with the President: His emotions made a tremendous impression on me
On May 10, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of the first residential complex with 104 apartments built in the city of Zangilan, met with families who had relocated here, delivered a speech, and handed over apartment keys to the residents.
During the key handover ceremony, particular attention was drawn to the touching dialogue between the head of state and the father of a martyr of the 44-day Patriotic War.
The hero's father reported that he was feeling unwell. The President immediately gave instructions to escort him out and provide the necessary assistance.
As reported by Oxu.Az, the father of martyr Samir Sariyev — Ali Sariyev — told AzTV about what happened during the meeting with the Azerbaijani leader:
"The President invited me onto the stage. We greeted each other. The first thing he asked was: where did my son fight. When he asked that question, I experienced such strong emotion that, one could say, I lost my composure — I couldn't utter a single word. His attitude toward me was very kind. And the way he was concerned about me made a tremendous impression."
