The Baku Energy Forum has started at the Baku Congress Center

An international scientific conference "Imperial Structure: Ideologies and Realities of Colonialism" dedicated to French colonialism is being held in Baku.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, the event is organized by the Baku Initiative Group.

This is the first international conference of scientists specializing in decolonization and working in various UN structures. The scientific conference is attended by experienced UN experts in the field of decolonization, renowned scholars from former and current French colonies, recognized specialists in international law, foreign ambassadors accredited in Azerbaijan, as well as deputies and other officials.

The conference will deeply analyze the severe consequences of colonial policy, the actions of colonial powers toward enslaved peoples, the methods of discrimination used, as well as political, economic and cultural restrictions that are part of neocolonialism, and the policy of deliberate loss of national identity.

Ways to address systemic inequality at the level of international organizations will be discussed, as well as the use of existing opportunities and implementation of effective mechanisms within international organizations in the context of colonial powers obstructing the completion of the decolonization process, which is a requirement of international law and UN resolutions.
