Since the beginning of the American-Israeli operation against Iran on February 28, a total of 1,873 people have been evacuated from the country through the Azerbaijani border.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, the evacuees include citizens of 67 countries.

Meanwhile, from 08:00 on February 28 to 10:00 on March 8, 309 Azerbaijani citizens returned to the country.

Overall, during the specified period, the following citizens were evacuated from Iran through the Azerbaijani border: 529 citizens of China, 282 - Russia, 173 - Tajikistan, 123 - Pakistan, 57 - Oman, 44 - Italy, 32 - Indonesia, 25 - Iran, 26 - Spain, 18 - Saudi Arabia, 16 - France, 13 - Georgia, 10 - Bulgaria, 10 - Democratic Republic of the Congo, 8 - Brazil, 8 - United Kingdom, 7 - Belarus, 12 - Uzbekistan, 14 - Germany, 6 each - UAE, Slovakia, and Canada, 5 - Serbia, 10 - Nigeria, 5 each - Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Czech Republic, Austria, and Switzerland, 4 - Bahrain, 4 - Jordan, 4 - Sri Lanka, 17 - Japan, 4 each - Ukraine, Turkey, Hungary, Belgium, Kuwait, and Bangladesh, 3 each - Philippines, Qatar, Mexico, Finland, Croatia, and Romania, 2 each - Nepal, Lebanon, Yemen, Kyrgyzstan, Sudan, India, and Cyprus, 1 each - Poland, Australia, Tunisia, South Africa, Maldives, Myanmar, Cuba, Sweden, Vatican, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Latvia, Egypt, and the USA.

As a reminder, on February 28, the USA and Israel launched a military operation against Iran, carrying out airstrikes on cities across the republic. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a large-scale retaliatory operation, attacking targets in Israel. US facilities in Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia were also struck.
