President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a congratulatory letter to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the message states:

"To the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev

Dear President, dear Brother,

On behalf of my people and on my own behalf, I cordially congratulate Your Excellency and the dear Azerbaijani people on the Independence Day of Azerbaijan.

We feel a great sense of pride in connection with the steady strengthening of beloved Azerbaijan, the growth of its authority in the region and on the international stage, thanks to the skillful leadership and far-sighted policies of Your Excellency.

The strong bonds of brotherhood and solidarity between Turkey and Azerbaijan, drawing their strength from history, are strengthening day by day on the basis of the principle "One Nation, Two States," inherited by us from the national leader Heydar Aliyev. Turkey will continue to develop close cooperation and solidarity with brotherly Azerbaijan in all spheres on the basis of our strong ties.

I believe that our strong solidarity, cooperation, and joint projects will continue to contribute to the well-being of our two peoples, as well as to peace, stability, and development in our region. It is also gratifying to see the positive impact and contribution of the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity between Turkey and Azerbaijan to the development of our cooperation and unity across the entire Turkic world, especially under the auspices of the Organization of Turkic States.

Taking this opportunity, I wish Your Excellency health and happiness, express my best wishes for the continued well-being and progress of the brotherly people of Azerbaijan, and once again cordially congratulate beloved Azerbaijan on its Independence Day."
