President: We cannot change the historical architectural ensemble of Baku

We cannot change the historical architectural ensemble of Baku. The solution may be traffic management and priority development of micromobility, that is, public transport. Our Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is actively working in this direction, engaging international specialists.

As reported by AZERTAJ, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said this on January 5 in an interview with local TV channels.

The head of state noted that a map of Baku's new road infrastructure has been approved, locations for 10 new metro stations have been determined, and two additional depots will be built. Projects to optimize existing metro stations are being implemented. "Over the past 20 years, seven metro stations have been built. Imagine what the situation would be like now if they hadn't been built?" emphasized President Ilham Aliyev, adding that the process of providing more space for micromobility, pedestrians, and organizing some streets exclusively for pedestrian traffic continues. The public will see this in the coming months. At the same time, the creation of new public spaces has gained wide scope in Baku.
