President: The guarantee of trust between Azerbaijan and Armenia should be international legal norms

One of the topics we discussed in Abu Dhabi was the very low level of trust between the parties, which is completely understandable. As for us, our position has never changed. Just as I said in 2003 that "Karabakh is our land!", I have been saying the same throughout these 22 years and continue to say so. But the Armenian position has changed. And where is the guarantee that it won't change again? Is there such a guarantee? ... I don't have such a guarantee. The guarantee should be international legal norms and documents that will, as I said in Abu Dhabi, reinforce the coffin lid of separatism with concrete.
As reported by AZERTAJ, this was stated by President Ilham Aliyev, speaking at the III Shusha Global Media Forum.
The head of state emphasized that this requires the liquidation of the OSCE Minsk Group. "The logic is simple. If the Armenian side believes that the Karabakh conflict is over - and the Minsk Group was created for the Karabakh conflict - then it should be liquidated. This requires changes to the Armenian constitution to remove the declaration of independence, which contains territorial claims against Azerbaijan," he noted.
The President of Azerbaijan said that the text of the peace treaty has been agreed upon, and the idea of initialing this document was also put forward by the Azerbaijani side. "In principle, we are not far from, as I said, reinforcing the coffin lid with concrete and then living normally. I said this at previous meetings as well: you live your life, we will live ours. Only in this way can a more or less acceptable situation gradually develop in the South Caucasus so that the three countries can finally begin to discuss the possibilities of at least some kind of cooperation," added the head of state.
