President Ilham Aliyev visited the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent
On November 15, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to AZERTAJ, the foundation of the Center of Islamic Civilization, created by the decree of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was laid in 2018. Hundreds of scientists, experts, as well as religious and public figures participated in the implementation of the project. Designed in the style of ancient architectural monuments of Samarkand city, the center occupies an area of more than 10 hectares. A majestic dome with a height of 65 meters has been built here. The center includes research units, departments for maintaining the National Register of Rare Manuscripts, the Manuscript Fund, library and archives, publishing departments and other sections.
The exhibition gallery displays items and artifacts from various historical epochs, and the creative potential of ancestors is revealed through modern technologies and digital devices.
The center building houses a huge library, including 100,000 manuscripts and lithographs, as well as more than a million books. On the same floor are the scientific department of the Center of Islamic Civilization and offices of international organizations. The museum exhibition of the Center consists of halls such as "Civilizations before Islam," "Period of the First Renaissance," "Period of the Second Renaissance," "Uzbekistan in the 20th Century," "New Uzbekistan - the Foundation of the Third Renaissance," and "The Holy Quran."
In the very center of the exhibition, there is a hall of the Holy Quran. Here is placed the spiritual pearl of the Muslim world - the ancient Mushaf of Uthman. Also presented are handwritten copies of the Quran created during the era of the Samanids, Karakhanids, Khorezmians, Timurids, and other dynasties, as well as their translations into Old Uzbek language. Additionally, religious-educational and innovative media projects have been created here.
On the large multimedia panel "Wall of Time," the most important historical stages of various epochs, great discoveries, and outstanding personalities are brought to life through holography, installations, and projection technologies. This center has established cooperation with several international organizations, including UNESCO and ISESCO.
