The President of the Azerbaijan Republic (AR) Ilham Aliyev signed an order "On conscription of citizens of AR for active military service from January 1 to January 30, 2026, and discharge to reserve of active military service personnel".

As reported by BAKU.WS, the document states:

"Guided by paragraph 26 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Azerbaijan Republic, based on Articles 12.3 and 40.1 of the Law of the Azerbaijan Republic "On Military Duty and Military Service" and in order to staff the Armed Forces of the Azerbaijan Republic, I decree:

1. from January 1 to January 30, 2026, to conscript for active military service citizens of the Azerbaijan Republic born in 2008 who have reached the age of 18 by the day of conscription (including that day), as well as those born in 1996-2007, under the age of 30, who have not undergone active military service, who do not have the right to defer conscription for active military service or who are not exempt from conscription for active military service in the Armed Forces of the Azerbaijan Republic.

2. from January 1 to January 30, 2026, to discharge to reserve active military service personnel who have completed the term of service provided for in Article 38.1.1 of the Law of the Azerbaijan Republic "On Military Duty and Military Service".

3. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic shall take measures provided for by legislation to implement this order".
