# President Ilham Aliyev signed a law changing the oncological care system in the country
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a law on amendments to the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Public Health Protection" and "On Oncological Care".
This was reported by Azertaj.
According to the amendments, in addition to specialized private medical institutions, oncological care to citizens will be able to be provided by private clinics licensed to do so in accordance with the requirements of the law "On Licenses and Permits".
These changes will allow citizens to receive medical services at any medical institution of their own choice and will ensure the right of citizens of Azerbaijan, foreigners, and stateless persons to independently choose their attending physician and undergo treatment at the appropriate medical institution at their own discretion.
