President Ilham Aliyev met with the head of EBRD in Davos
On January 20, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met in Davos with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso.
As reported by AZERTAG, during the conversation, satisfaction was expressed with the cooperation between our country and the EBRD, and it was noted that the bank is implementing a number of successful projects in Azerbaijan. In this context, the implementation of various projects by the bank in the water sector in several regions of the country, including Ganja and Sheki, was emphasized, and discussions were held on financing projects adopted under the State Program for improving water supply, rainwater and wastewater systems in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula for 2026-2035.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on financing activities in the renewable energy sector, updating Nakhchivan's transport system, and projects for the neutralization of household waste in certain regions of the country.
During the conversation, they discussed the work carried out by the state in the banking sector in Azerbaijan, as well as in the field of entrepreneurship development, creating an effective investment environment for local and foreign businessmen.
