President Ilham Aliyev: Independence is a great blessing, a great achievement

Independence is a great blessing, a great achievement. However, true independence exists when a country is capable of pursuing an independent policy. And Azerbaijan is among such countries.

As reported by BAKU.WS, President Ilham Aliyev stated this during a meeting with residents in the village of Boyuk Galadarasi of the Shusha district.

"Today there are about 200 independent states in the world. But it cannot be said that all of them are truly independent. We are an independent state in the true sense of the word. Because we determine our own destiny, we pursue our policy without looking to anyone, in the name of the people and the state, based on the protection of national interests," the head of state noted.
