President Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself with the progress of work in Victory Park in Khankendi

On July 3, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself with the progress of construction work being carried out in Victory Park in Khankendi.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the special representative of the President in the city of Khankendi, Agderin and Khojaly districts, Elchin Yusubov, informed the head of state about the work being done.

It was noted that work on creating Victory Park, which was established by President Ilham Aliyev in February of this year, is progressing at a rapid pace. On the territory of the park, which will cover an area of 8.3 hectares, a number of structures built during the occupation period that violated construction standards and were unsuitable for use have been demolished. In the center of the park, construction of the Triumphal Arch - a symbol of our Victory - continues. Its height will be 44 meters, corresponding to the number of days of the Patriotic War. At the top of the arch, an observation deck for visitors is being created. From the square in the center of the park to the Triumphal Arch, there will be 44 symbolic steps, each of which will present information about the settlements liberated on each day of the Patriotic War. To ensure convenient access for the elderly, children, and people with physical disabilities to the upper part of the monument - the observation deck - elevators will be installed. According to the project, extensive landscaping strips are planned in the park. The trees that were already on the park territory have been preserved, and more than 300 additional trees and over 9,000 various types of ornamental shrubs have been planted.
