Participant of the April battles: we faced death more than once

It has been 10 years since one of the successful operations of the Azerbaijani army - a four-day military confrontation that went down in history as the "April Battles."

These short but significant clashes became a turning point for Azerbaijan, demonstrating to the entire world the strength and combat capability of the army.

Battle participant Akhliyat Mehdiyev, in an interview with Baku TV, emphasized that these events became the spark on the path to the 44-day Patriotic War.

"We faced death more than once. But it didn't break us, it only made us stronger. My comrade-in-arms eliminated an Armenian soldier and fell as a hero. Our wounded soldiers stayed at their positions and wanted to fight to the end," he said.
