Kobakhidze: It is important to strengthen strategic ties with Baku and Ankara

Official Tbilisi considers it necessary to strengthen ties between Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia, including on the issue of regional connectivity.

As reported by Report, this was stated by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

"It is fundamentally important to further strengthen the strategic ties between our three countries - Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey, including in terms of connectivity. We are doing and will do everything necessary for this," Kobakhidze said, commenting on statements by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev regarding the implementation of transport and energy projects in the region.

He also recalled that when adopting a document prepared by experts on electricity transit issues and underwater cable projects, the European Union included the Black Sea underwater cable project in the list of projects of common interest.

The head of the Georgian government also highly praised the level of regional integration with Azerbaijan and Turkey.

"We have very good dynamics with Azerbaijan, as well as with Turkey, and, of course, work in this direction will be actively continued," he concluded.
