In Azerbaijan, a minute of silence honored the memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War

Today, a minute of silence was observed throughout Azerbaijan in memory of all who heroically fought in the Patriotic War and sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country.
At 12:00 Baku time, vehicular and pedestrian traffic across the entire republic was suspended.
It should be noted that during the 44-day Patriotic War, the Azerbaijani army, showing great heroism, liberated our lands that had been under occupation for almost 30 years.
Azerbaijan lost 2,908 servicemen in the 44-day war, and six more went missing. Thanks to their heroism, today our people are returning to their native lands, and construction work is being carried out in the territories liberated from occupation.
On December 2, 2020, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree establishing the Day of Remembrance in the Republic of Azerbaijan (AR). According to the document, September 27 is annually observed as the Day of Remembrance in Azerbaijan.
The memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War will forever live in the hearts of our people. Their heroic chronicle will serve as an example for future generations. May Allah grant peace to the souls of our martyrs!
