President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev thanked his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin for personally keeping the situation under control in connection with the AZAL aircraft crash.

"I would like to thank you for personally keeping this situation under control. <…> You are personally monitoring the progress of the investigation, and we had no doubt that it would objectively get to the bottom of everything. Therefore, I would like to once again express my gratitude that you considered it necessary to specifically address this issue at our meeting," said the head of state.
