President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the message states:

"Dear Serdar Gurbangulyevich,

I cordially congratulate you and your brotherly people on the 30th anniversary of the recognition of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.

The adoption of the UN General Assembly resolution on December 12, 1995, recognizing Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality with the unanimous support of 185 countries was a significant event, inscribed in golden letters in the history of your country. Your country, pursuing a policy of neutrality, has rapidly developed in all areas during the past period and achieved significant success.

Turkmenistan's neutral status is based on the historical heritage, traditions, and customs of your people, founded on the principles of peace-loving, dialogue, and mutual respect. Today, Turkmenistan's policy of permanent neutrality plays an important role in strengthening peace and security in the region and throughout the world.

We always respect the neutrality policy of your country. That is why the Republic of Azerbaijan was a co-author of the relevant UN General Assembly resolutions on the neutral status of your country in both 1995 and 2015.

I believe that we will continue our joint efforts to preserve and strengthen the good traditions of Azerbaijani-Turkmen interstate relations stemming from the will of our brotherly peoples, and deepen our strategic partnership.

On this significant day, I express my best wishes to you and wish the brotherly people of Turkmenistan constant well-being and prosperity".

In addition, the head of our state congratulated the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov:

"Dear Gurbanguly Myalikgulyevich,

Dear brother,

I am very pleased to cordially congratulate you and your brotherly people on the significant date - the 30th anniversary of the recognition of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.

The recognition of Turkmenistan's status of permanent neutrality by the world community thirty years ago was an important event and a great historical achievement that gave impetus to the dynamic and sustainable development of your country and strengthened its authority on the international arena.

The essence of Turkmenistan's policy of permanent neutrality is rooted in the centuries-old humanism, peacefulness, and spiritual and moral philosophy of your people. Today, Turkmenistan's constructive initiatives aimed at broad international cooperation serve such noble goals as strengthening global peace and security, promoting humanistic values. At the same time, your country, actively promoting its peace-loving doctrine on the world stage, contributes to strengthening international dialogue through mutually beneficial cooperation.

Azerbaijan has always respected the neutrality policy of its brotherly and good neighbor Turkmenistan. It is no coincidence that the Republic of Azerbaijan was a co-author of the relevant UN General Assembly resolutions on the neutral status of your country in both 1995 and 2015.

The current level of relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan is satisfactory. I would like to especially note your constant and resolute efforts aimed at strengthening our interstate relations and brotherhood. Taking this opportunity, I would like to note that I recall with the most pleasant impressions your two visits to Azerbaijan this year and my visit to the delightful Avaza in August, our meetings and conversations with you, which took place in an atmosphere of sincerity and mutual trust.

I am confident that we will consistently continue our joint efforts to further strengthen the Azerbaijani-Turkmen bonds of brotherhood and take our multifaceted cooperation to a new level.

Dear Gurbanguly Myalikgulyevich, on this festive day, I once again extend my congratulations to you, wish you good health, happiness, success in your endeavors, and constant well-being and prosperity to the brotherly people of Turkmenistan".
