President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

As reported by Oxu.Az, the text of the message was published by AZERTAG:

"Dear Shavkat Miromonovich,

Dear Brother,

On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I extend to you and through you to all your people the warmest congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the national holiday - Independence Day of the brotherly Republic of Uzbekistan.

As a brotherly country, we feel joy that today we are witnessing the rapid and comprehensive development of your country based on the new strategy of Uzbekistan that you have defined, its progress in all spheres, the growth of economic power, and the strengthening of its authority and positions on the world stage. All of Uzbekistan's achievements are the result of your multifaceted activities, far-sighted policy, and worthy service to the Homeland and people.

Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations clearly reflect the good traditions of brotherly relations formed between our peoples who share common history, language, and culture.

Mutual visits and high-level meetings play an important role in the current dynamic upward development of our interstate relations. Your state visit to Azerbaijan in July once again confirmed the allied nature of bilateral relations. I am confident that the important agreements we have reached on future directions of Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations, a number of documents signed in various fields, in particular on the diversification of economic partnership, will contribute to expanding the scope of our cooperation, further strengthening and deepening allied relations.

We are determined to continue expanding our cooperation with brotherly Uzbekistan through joint efforts, which is being filled with new content day by day, particularly in the trade-economic, energy, investment, agricultural, transport and logistics spheres. The existing high level of mutual understanding, faith and trust creates favorable ground for this.
